About

Daniel is the Manager of Risk Assessment, Food and Social Systems. He is responsible for leading a wide group of scientists working in environmental health, social systems, food safety, chemistry, and risk assessment. This team provides scientific services and undertakes research for a wide variety of clients, but principally for the Ministry of Health, the Ministry for Primary Industries and the food industry (via the New Zealand Food Safety Science and Research Centre), Public Health Agency and Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand), and local government. Daniel particularly enjoys the extensive breadth of scientific disciplines he works with and finds the job rewarding, getting to witness the tangible impact of PHF Science's work on New Zealand's economy, people, and the environment.
