He has been involved in outbreak investigations and product recalls related to a number of organisms including Listeria, E. coli O157, Salmonella and Campylobacter. He has been internationally recognised for his work on tracking disease-causing organisms He is now focused on the introduction of whole genome sequencing and metagenomics analysis through his involvement in PulseNet International and the Biological Heritage National Science Challenge.
