About
Dr. Andri Rachmadi is a Senior Scientist with the Enteric, Environmental, and Food Virology (EEFV) team at PHF Science (formerly ESR). His research focuses on the detection, mitigation, and surveillance of enteric viruses in food, water, and wastewater. Following the completion of his PhD, Dr. Rachmadi gained over five years of international research and academic experience in Japan, Saudi Arabia, and the United States before joining PHF Science in 2022. He has more than seven years of expertise in environmental and food virology and has authored over ten peer-reviewed publications including in Food and Environmental Virology, Applied and Environmental Microbiology, Water Research, and Environmental Science and Technology journals. Dr. Rachmadi currently leads the development of a human norovirus aptamer-based sensor and has been recognized as an awardee of the KiwiNet Emerging Innovator Cohort 23. He also serves as Principal Investigator (PI) of the Catalyst New Zealand–Japan Joint Research Project and PI of the KiwiNet Tier 1 program on the same project.
