- A cluster of monophasic Salmonella Typhimurium ST34 in the majority (80.5%) of cases is in the North Island. Between 04 November 2024 and 24 October 2025, 41 genomically clustered cases of monophasic Salmonella Typhimurium ST34 were identified. Six cases in this genomic cluster are linked to the common event outbreak in Gisborne. No common source has been identified for cases that are unlinked to the Gisborne outbreak.
