Abstract

Clopidol is a pyridone-derivative structurally related to the quinolones. Pyridones are the carbonyl tautomeric forms of hydroxypyridines. The tautomeric equilibrium of 3,5-dichloro-2,6-dimethyl-1H- pyridin-4-one and 3,5-dichloro-2,6-dimethyl-1H-pyridin-4-ol is a common phenomenon with aromatic compounds (Monastyrskyi, Kyle and Manetsch, 2014).
