Assessment of the emerging risk of human fungal infections after natural disasters and extreme weather events
Summary
The aim of this report is to provide a summary of what is known about fungal infections associated with natural disasters and extreme weather events to support health professionals in identifying these infections. Due to overlap in routes for infection, events were grouped into flooding events, which includes tsunami, cyclones and extreme rainfall; events associated with dispersal of fungal propagules, such as tornadoes, earthquakes, landslides, dust storms, wildfires; and volcanic eruptions.
